West Dean Art & Object Handling Course

John Bracken has 40 years’ experience in handling and installing art - from materials as diverse as paintings, marble and bronze to rice, chlorine gas and unmade beds. He has now been the lead tutor of the Art and Object Handling course at West Dean College for the past ten years. The course aims to provide training in best practice for the handling, packing, storage and display of paintings and sculpture. It includes specialist sections on picture hanging, basic sculpture handling and an introduction to audio-visual installations.
